Wheel of Consent Workshop
with Beth and Pheobe
What do I want? How do I ask for it?: An Introduction to the Wheel of Consent
The Wheel of Consent, developed by Betty Martin, is a wonderful framework to help us ask for what we want, find our pleasure, and deepen our capacity for intimacy and compassion.
This Introduction to the Wheel of Consent Workshop will combine embodied practice with learning, reflection and sharing. This workshop is not about consent in the way we have been taught to understand it, but about making agreements and noticing our boundaries, and the practice of feeling into our yes and paying attention to our no. You will be able to participate by doing or observing, and request that the exercises be nontouch, if preferred.
Seating is mostly on the floor on mats (There are few seats available on a small couch.) We will have some cushions and pillows available, you are welcome to bring your own, as well as snacks or anything that will make you more comfortable. Please note: space opens 15 minutes before the start of the circle. Due to the sensitive subject of this workshop, please give yourself time to arrive and ground in the space to start on time with the opening circle. There will be ample breaks for rest and refueling.
