Ipponawa/ 1 Rope
with William
Let’s strip it down to the bare essentials, 2 people and one rope. Let’s explore how we communicate, how we interact, how we engage with one another without relying on elaborate harnesses or uplines. Instead of focusing on the rope and the knots, can we focus on our partner with intentional quietude enough to actually listen and perceive? Ipponawa is an essentialist style of tying that relies on the fundamental essence, the very best part of Shibari, connection with ourselves and with our partners.
We will be working through a series of exercises designed to achieve maximal restriction with minimal means, playing with how tempo and gusto affect our experiences of tying and being tied, while learning how to better convey our intentions through the rope directly.
This is a great opportunity for couples who tie together often to go deeper into their practice together. And for couples getting to know each other, this may be a guide or a good entry point to building intimacy.
Requirements: One Rope, Two people.
RSVP for a tying pair is $85
