Level 3 with Syd

A detailed and nerdy deep dive into how and why suspendable harnesses work in the air, and how to create them.

Each class will zoom in on a specific harness. Students will spend the class learning the pattern, personalizing it, load testing it, and as time allows, putting it into a simple partial suspension.

We’ll focus on:

• Adaptability and customization

• Tension 

• Rope handling and flow

• Awareness of safety and risk considerations

This workshop is designed for folks who feel comfortable tying on the floor, who are confident with their fundamentals (see below prerequisites), who are looking to move their practice towards suspension.  We’ll cover a lot of ground over a short period of time–bring  your thinking cap, come caffeinated, and be prepared for a fast paced and detail oriented few hours. 

Prerequisites:

We strongly recommend that students have taken several level two classes, or comparable floor level classes, before attending this class.  We require at least one partner of each pair to have taken Rope0.

Rigger prerequisites: some experience following patterns and building harnesses, confident in rope communication skills, knowledge of safety and risk in rope

Bottom prerequisites: confident in-rope communication skills, knowledge of safety and risk in rope, confident ability to monitor and communicate signs of nerve compression

Supplies: One full rope kit
