The Share

The Share

with Mira and Mylo

The Share is a collaborative space led by you and your peers. Topics will change and develop based on who is present and the interests of the group for the evening, no two Shares will look the same. Participants are encouraged to come ready to learn and/or share.

Based on an “un-conference” model like NARIX and Studio Friction’s Rope Practicum, The Share invites participants to shape the night and collaborate, tapping into peer knowledge and decentralizing education.

At the beginning of The Share, participants will be given a handout where they can write a topic they wish to either learn more about or something they would like to offer knowledge on that night. All things rope related are welcome, and no topic is too small. Depending on the size of the group there may be 2-3 topics running simultaneously, giving participants an opportunity to focus on their areas of greatest interest.

The Share welcomes everyone, including self tiers, solo attendees, and pairs.

Important note: This event is not a class with formal education. The organizers act as facilitators and guardians, but the learning opportunities are peer-led.

Prerequisites: This class is meant to be accessible to all skill levels. When topics are above your skill level we ask participants to observe or ask for support.

Materials Needed: Pen & paper. A few hanks of rope, although you may want to bring more (8-10) as topics can range from single column ties up to suspension.

Facilitator Bios:
Mylo Nex (He/Him) is a rope bottom and kinkster who brings his background in circus arts and somatics to his BDSM lifestyle. Mylo focuses on how bottom education and communication can contribute to the development of safe and rewarding relationships and tying dynamics. Mylo also brings his training as a restorative justice circle keeper to inform conversations around harm and repair in kink community.

Mira (she/they) is a Brooklyn based queer, poly, switch who has been passionate about rope since first being tied in 2021.
